My cat was attacked possibly by an owl a couple weeks ago late at night. I called the vet on emergency in Long prairie and described how bad the wound was (about 5 inches long and deep muscle exposed). He just wrote it off as if it was just a cat bite. So he told me to bring the cat in the next day for antibiotics. Clearly with how bad the wound was, it was most definitely not a cat bite. I honestly did not think my cat would make it through the night, but being he's one tough little kitty, he hung on long enough to be brought to the vet immediately the next morning. The vet then closed up the wound and put him on antibiotics. A couple days later, I noticed a foul odor like dead flesh coming from my cat. So my girlfriend took him to the vet in Brainerd to get him the proper care he needed. The antibiotics my cat was put on was not good enough for how severe the wound was. The vet in Brainerd switched his antiobitcs to a more effective one which did help with the infection, but with how infected the closed wound was it was not even close to healing, especially since the vet in Long prairie did not freshen the wound edges up when they did the wound closure. So my cat had to have the same procedure done a second time at the Brainerd vet since the first procedure done by the vet in Long prairie failed. I ended up paying a lot more than what I expected because of the poor outcome. If I would have just brought my cat to the vet in Brainerd it would have been done correctly the first time. My cat is doing very well now thanks to the Brainerd vet. The vet and the staff in Long prairie were unpleasant to work with. They showed no compassion and were down right rude. In my opinion, they are unprofessional. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. I will be bringing my pets to a more competent vet clinic in Brainerd who I know I can trust to provide the proper care for my pets.

Stayed after hours on a holiday weekend to help stitch my hunting dog up after an incident with a barbed wire fence, top notch service! Thank you Dr. Sauer and crew!

Excellent service
